Indirect injection moulding technique
Solutions

Indirect injection moulding technique

The wax-up has been done. The mock-up fits. How can the shape created now be precisely, efficiently and reproducibly replicated in the final restoration? With ClearForm X and CERAMAGE UP, a reproductible workflow for the indirect injection moulding technique is created. Our matched materials for bonding, individualisation, and surface treatment complement the process through to the completed restoration.

Creating a silicone index

ClearForm X

ClearForm X can serve as a transfer matrix for digital and analogue wax-ups, helping users to replicate the planned morphology with a composite in a form-guided technique – without the need to freely sculpt the entire anatomy. Its specific thixotropy ensures stability during application, while allowing the material to flow into even the finest details under pressure.

Conditioning of the metal framework

SHOFU Universal Primer

For metallic substrates, SHOFU Universal Primer is recommended. It reliably and durably bonds resins to all dental alloys, zirconia and alumina – even without the use of retention beads. In combination with SHOFU Universal Opaque (PRE-OPAQUE), the primer creates durable bonds, and alloys you to apply resins to metal frameworks without any mechanical retention.

Opaque application

SHOFU Universal Opaque

After pretreatment with the SHOFU Universal Opaque system (PRE-OPAQUE and OPAQUE), the framework is fixed to the model. The light-cured paste opaques offer excellent masking properties and bond strengths to all commonly used dental alloys, thanks to specially optimised microfillers.

Composite injection

CERAMAGE UP

CERAMAGE UP is a ready-to-use, low-viscosity microhybrid composite that can be applied directly from the dispenser. In combination with ClearForm X, wax-up-based concepts can efficiently, reproducibly and profitably turn into highly aesthetic results. After injection, the material is cured using the Solidilite LED light-curing unit.

Reducing (cut-back)

Dura-Green

After injecting the CERAMAGE UP Body shade, the dentin body is reduced until there is sufficient space for individualisations and an Incisal shade. Dura-Green silicon carbide stones with a ceramic binder can be used for this step. They are particularly suitable for reducing, contouring and finishing porcelains or composites and finishing metals.

Bonding

CERARESIN BOND (CRB)

The second bond is restored with CERARESIN BOND (CRB 1 and CRB 2). The CRB system is designed to excellently and durably bond light-cured and self-cured resins to all ceramic veneering materials.

Individualisation

LITE ART

The final characterisations are created using the LITE ART paste stains. These fluorescent stains can be applied almost as thin as porcelain and cure fully after short curing time. Simply by covering the polymerised stains with an incisal or translucent composite layer, very fine accents can be achieved precisely and with spatial depth.

Incisal edge injection

CERAMAGE UP

Once all painting and layering steps are complete, the silicone matrix is repositioned precisely, and the entire incisal edge is overpressed with CERAMAGE UP. After complete curing, the silicone is removed, and the result already shows a homogeneous and complete form.

Final polymerisation

Solidilite LED

The advanced LED light-curing unit, Solidilite LED, has white, blue and UV LEDs, covering a wavelength range of 380 to 650 nm, making it well-equipped even for curing future generations of composite materials. The thermal energy produced by the white LEDs enhances and accelerates the curing process.

Contouring

Dura-Green

After removing the injection channels and smoothing all transitions, the surface is textured using diamond burs, stones and rubber polishers. The silicon carbide stones Dura-Green with a ceramic binder are exceptionally well-suited for contouring and finishing porcelain, indirect composites and metals.

Finishing

SoftCut-E

The SoftCut-E PB silicone polishers with integrated abrasive particles are used for polishing after fine finishing. By varying the pressure, the polishing effect can be adjusted: the lower the pressure, the higher the gloss.

Polishing

Dura-Polish

Dura-Polish is impregnated with fine alumina particles (more than 73 % by weight) and efficiently achieves a very homogeneous surface when prepolishing composite, alloys, denture acrylics and PMMA, especially in difficult to reach areas.

High-lustre polishing

Dura-Polish DIA

Dura-Polish DIA is filled to an extremely high level (67 % by weight) with industrial diamond particles. Due to the ultrafine particle size of < 1 μm this paste polishes composites and porcelain to an excellent and durable gloss in a minimum of time.
